Sacraments

Baptisms

Baptisms are held on the second Sunday of the month.  Please call the Parish Office for arrangements.  Parents are expected to be registered with the parish, practicing Catholics, and must attend the pre-Baptism class at least one month prior to the desired date.  It is recommended that you attend the program prior to the birth of your child.

Marriage

Please contact one of the parish priests or deacons at least one year in advance to set a wedding date and begin pre-marriage preparation.

Reconciliation

Saturdays at 3:30 pm or by appointment with a priest.  Please call the rectory.

First Reconciliation and First Holy Communion

Please contact Mrs. Theresa Moschelle at (302) 798-2987, ext 11 or religioused@hrparish.com for more information about First Reconciliation and First Holy Communion.  Please note that our Parish celebrates these Sacraments in late Winter and Spring.

CONFIRMATION

Please contact Mrs. Theresa Moschelle at 302-798-2987, ext 11 or religioused@hrparish.com for more information about the Sacrament of Confirmation.

Reminder:  There is no mandatory requirement that a student receive a sacrament at a specific age. Sacraments should be received by those desiring the gifts, freely given by Christ, and desiring to live out their Catholic faith in the worship community.  They are not merely tasks to be completed.

A child must be a minimum of 8 years old/second grade, and be in their second year of religious education (2nd grade in Catholic School) to begin preparation for First Reconciliation and First Communion.  Any age student welcomed, under these same guidelines.  Confirmation requirements also include a minimum of 2 years of previous religious education.  The minimum age in the Diocese of Wilmington is 8th grade for reception of the sacrament.
