Facility Rental Rules

HOLY ROSARY CHURCH
HALL AND PASTORAL CENTER RENTERS’ RULES

HALL

  1. Hall rental is reserved for Holy Rosary parishioners’ use. Parishioners must have been registered for at least six months prior to being allowed to rent the hall.
  2. Event Point of Contact accepts full responsibility for conduct of guests and any damages. Point of Contact must be present for full length of event. Children must be supervised at all times.
  3. Event Point of Contact will coordinate with Holy Rosary Staff prior to event on food set-up, heating and serving to ensure electrical loads do not exceed maximums.
  4. Do not adjust environmental controls. These should be set in coordination with the overseeing Holy Rosary Staff Member prior to the event.
  5. No smoking is allowed inside the Church. There is a smoking area outside the Lower Church entrance. Please do not leave cigarette butts on the ground.
  6. Maximum occupancy is 150 people.
  7. Function Attendees are restricted to the Church Hall, hallways leading to the Hall and the bathrooms. Please stay out of other rooms; especially the boiler room. Boiler room use for cleaning pots, pans, etc. must be coordinated prior to event with Holy Rosary and will be limited.
  8. If alcohol is sold, either directly or indirectly (for example, as part of a dinner ticket) the function Point of Contact is responsible for obtaining an Office of Delaware Alcoholic Beverage Control Gathering License for the event  An application for a Gathering License must be submitted to the State at least 28 days prior to the event. Holy Rosary can assist in preparation of license application.
  9. An insurance rider must be purchased through the Parish’s insurance company. It is $100 and is part of the overall rental cost. The rider application and fee must be paid 10 days prior to event and is non-refundable.
  10. When the event is concluded, all trash will be removed from tables, floor, etc. in the Hall and placed in receptacles. If overflow, tie bags and use additional bags that have been placed in trash cans. All food and drink will be removed from the Church.
  11. Do not attach posters or other material to the walls.
  12. The event Point of Contact will meet with Holy Rosary Staff Member to confirm Hall is in acceptable condition before departing the premises.

PASTORAL CENTER

  1. Pastoral Center rental is reserved for Holy Rosary parishioners’ use.  Parishioners must have been registered for at least six months prior to being allowed to rent the Pastoral Center.
  2. Event activities are confined to the first floor. No guests should ever go in the basement or to the second and third floors.
  3. Event Point of Contact accepts full responsibility for conduct of guests and any damages. Point of Contact must be present for full length of event. Children must be supervised at all times.
  4. Event Point of Contact will discuss with Holy Rosary Staff prior to event to coordinate kitchen use.
  5. Do not park on the grass without prior approval from Holy Rosary staff.
  6. Museum pieces in the parlors, including the Victrola and piano are not to be touched or moved.
  7. No food is allowed in the Pastoral Parlor.
  8. Do not adjust environmental controls. These should be set in coordination with the overseeing Holy Rosary Staff Member prior to the event.
  9. No smoking is allowed inside the Pastoral Center. There is a smoking area outside the northwest corner entrance. Please do not leave cigarette butts on the ground.
  10. Maximum occupancy is 50 people for an indoor event. An event that is primarily outside the Pastoral Center (for example, a wedding reception under a tent in the front yard) , but uses the Pastoral Center also, has a maximum limit of 150 people. An outside-only event is limited to 300 and the renter must contract for portable toilet facilities.
  11. If alcohol is sold, either directly or indirectly (for example, as part of a dinner ticket) the function Point of Contact is responsible for obtaining an Office of Delaware Alcoholic Beverage Control Gathering License for the event. An application for a Gathering License must be submitted to the State at least 28 days prior to the event. Holy Rosary can assist in preparation of license application.

  13. When the event is concluded, all trash will be removed from the Pastoral Center and placed in tied bags outside the back kitchen doorway. All food and drink will be removed from the Pastoral Center. Please ensure food from the event that may have been stored in the refrigerator is taken. The kitchen countertops and appliances shall be cleaned as well as the kitchen floor mopped. Holy Rosary pots, pans, utensils, etc., that were used shall be cleaned and returned to their original storage area.
  14. Do not attach posters or other material to the walls.
  15. The event Point of Contact will meet with Holy Rosary Staff Member to confirm Pastoral Center is in acceptable condition before departing the premises.
